"Cé hé sin" (michael-m-mouse)

In the 1970s Chrysler's UK offshoot decided to build a three door hatchback and managed to get substantial government grants to do so in order to keep their factory near Glasgow in operation.
The result was the rwd Sunbeam. It was rwd for cost reasons but this became handy when they decided to build a Lotus engined homologation special so as to go off rallying.
The Sunbeam Lotus had a 2.2 litre engine producing 150 bhp which was quite a healthy figure more than thirty years ago and as the Sunbeam weighed about as much as a pack of Maltesers it had commendably brisk performance, with 0-60 in about seven seconds.
That nice Mr. Volkswagen will today sell you a diesel Golf with similar performance and about half of the fuel consumption.
